Handy Tips

• Ideally you want to start looking for a property to rent about 2-6 weeks before you are ready to move. If a property is empty a tenancy can often be turned around in as quickly as a week.
• Remember that every tenant over the age of 18 will need to sign the tenancy agreement.
• No more than four adults can jointly apply to share a property.
• Don't be afraid to ask if there is something that you wish to be altered with the property, it could be that your landlord would be willing to do the work prior to signing the agreement if it means getting a good tenant.
• Be aware that most tenancy agreements are for a minimum fixed term and don't allow you to give notice early.
• Make sure all tenancy documentation is signed and that you understand the terms of the tenancy agreement.
